Markus Howard is often regarded as one of the best pure scorers in Europe. His current club, Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, decided to tie the player with the organization for the upcoming future.

According to Nacho Duque from Marca, the team will give the flashy guard a two-year extension.

The club officially confirmed the information later in the day.

Howard had one year left in his deal with the franchise. With the new contract, he would remain in the club until 2026.

The deal comes with a pay rise for the player, both for the 2023-24 season and the two in the future, Duque writes. The new contract does not include a EuroLeague out, the player can only leave Baskonia for an offer from the NBA.

In his first EuroLeague season with the team, Howard averaged 14.2 points on 36.5% three-point shooting, making 2.6 threes per game.

This year in the Spanish Liga Endesa, Howard has been the leader of the team, scoring 22.7 points per game for 20 PIR.
