New York Knicks wing RJ Barrett described his maiden FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 experience as somewhat confusing.

When questioned about whether this World Cup experience might offer insights for NBA programs preparing for the upcoming In-Season Tournament, Barrett gave this response:

"It was confusing, I do not know. For me, at least," Barrett admitted. "I mean, the coaches did a great job of letting us know what was going on. For the players, especially me, since it was my first World Cup, I am kind of learning everything on the fly. An NBA In-Season Tournament is going to be a similar thing. It's going to be the first time out, so interesting to see how that goes."

In the first semifinal, Serbia secured a victory over Team Canada, ending their chances of clinching the World Cup title. Canada will now face either the USA or Germany in the battle for third place scheduled for Sunday.

Barrett scored a game-high 23 points on Friday, but that was not enough to overcome Serbia's collective effort.
