Nikos Chougkaz will play the next season with Peristeri.
Nikos Chougkaz moved from Panathinaikos Athens to Peristeri last February. The Greek forward finished the season with the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis, with the Greens keeping the player's rights.
After the 2022-23 campaign ended, Chougkaz, as well as the entire roster, was evaluated by newly-hired coach Ergin Ataman. The Turkish specialist decided that the squad is stacked with forwards (Ioannis Papapetrou, Dinos Mitoglou, Juancho Hernangomez, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, Lefteris Mantzoukas) which made Chougkaz's presence redundant.
Hence, the Greek player was once again loaned out to Peristeri for the 2023-24 season, Panathinaikos announced.
Chougkaz, 23, played 8 games with the Greens, completing his Greek league season with 3.7 points and 3 rebounds per game over 17 domestic appearances overall.
