Real Madrid's star center Edy Tavares exited Game 1 of the EuroLeague playoffs against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade with an injury. Head coach Chus Mateo revealed his status for Game 2.

An hour before the second game of the series, Mateo told that Tavares was out for Game 2.

Tavares suffered a knee injury at the end of the second quarter in Game 1 when he awkwardly landed on his foot after Sergio Rodriguez's lob pass and immediately asked for a substitution.

"He felt pain after he was hit in the knee, and he kept feeling pain," Real Madrid head coach Chus Mateo said in the press conference after Game 1. "There was a problem with one of the ligaments."

According to Pilar Casado from COPE, Petr Cornielie and Fabien Causeur will not play as well. Vincent Poirier, however, is expected to play, the journalist notes.
