Another injury alert at EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, as Shavon Shields sustained an ankle injury during the Serie A game vs. Brindisi.

More than four months after his injury on October 20, 2022, Shavon Shields returned to action this week. The 28-year-old played eight minutes in Valencia and 15 vs. Partizan. He went scoreless in both games.

The Danish forward suffered a first injury at Cagliari in the pre-season and got to play only seven games between LBA and EuroLeague with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

But it seems that he can't catch a break. In Milan's game against Happy Casa Brindisi, Shields had to leave the court in pain again.

With 6.02 left to play in the first quarter, Marques Reed received an unsportsmanlike foul after accidentally placing his foot on Shields' landing area. Milan's forward left the court limping, having sustained an apparent ankle injury. He then went straight to his team's bench, visibly angry.

"In the first quarter, Shavon Shields came out with a sprained left ankle falling back on the feet of an opponent. Will not play in the second half," the club announced via its Twitter account.

"The downside of the game is the incident with Shavon Shields," Ettore Messina commented.

"I'm very sorry because putting your foot under [another player's foot] wasn't really a nice thing. I hope it's nothing serious."
