Pau Gasol has recently been named the finalist of the 2023 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame class. After the news, the former Los Angeles Lakers big man commented on Barca's early exit.
"This year it could not be. They had won in previous seasons but I prefer to change the Cup for the Euroleague," Gasol told Toni Canyameras from Mundo Deportivo. "Hopefully, this year, in which it has not been possible to win the Cup, the team will give everything and prepare to the fullest and have more luck than previous editions in the Euroleague"
After the game, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius took all the blame on himself, claiming that he had not prepared the team for the match. The specialist admitted that the squad lacks the so-called killer instinct to close out the games.
Nikola Mirotic shared a similar view to Gasol's, saying that there are still titles to win this season, and the focus should go toward achieving victories in the two remaining tournaments.
