Nikos Chougkaz is slated to move to Peristeri and finish the season with the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis. The news was first reported by Greek newspaper Live Sport.

The agreement between the two sides was finalized on Wednesday night, with Chougkaz skipping the trip to Vitoria, where Panathinaikos Athens are playing on Friday night (20:30). Instead, the Greek power forward returned to Athens to integrate with his new team.

Thus, Panathinaikos and Peristeri have essentially traded power forwards, just a couple of days after Dimitris Agravanis signed with the six-time EuroLeague champs. Currently, PAO have more depth in the '4' position, with Agravanis adding to Derrick Williams and Lefteris Mantzoukas.

For Chougkaz, 23, finding some meaningful minutes on the court has been hard this season- and even more so after the Greens added one more player to their roster.

Peristeri, on the other hand, announced Wednesday the agreement with former Galatasaray and AEK big man Ian Hummer and are now expected to bolster their frontcourt with a player that had a significant impact with his former team, Ionikos, between 2019 and 2021.

Chougkaz played 8 games in this year's Greek Basket League, averaging 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in nearly 7 minutes.
