The club has signed former Sacramento Kings forward Chima Moneke until the end of the 2023-24 season.
"I chose Monaco because the coach, the general manager, and the president showed a great interest in me directly. I felt wanted by the club and they thought I could really contribute to this team," Moneke said after the signing. "The idea of living in Monaco also appealed to me enormously, I want to live a peaceful and happy life."
Moneke managed to play only 2 games in the NBA this season and scored 2 points on 2 shot attempts in 8 minutes of play. Instead, the player spent most of his days with the Stockton Kings in the G-League.
Throughout 16 matches, Moneke averaged 17.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Before coming to the NBA, Moneke became the MVP of the Basketball Champions League (BCL) playing for BAXI Manresa, averaging 13.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game for 16.1 PIR.
