FC Bayern Munich officially announced that Andreas Obst suffered an elbow injury in training before leaving for the EuroLeague game in Kaunas.

The Geman national team player will be out of basketball action for a few weeks.

"His arm will first be immobilized and then the shooting guard will be checked again in a month," the further announcement reads.

Obst is one of Bayern's most effective shooters, who averages 9.4 points (38.9% 3PT) and 5.9 PIR over 14 EuroLeague games this season.

Bayern's captain Vladimir Lucic has a similar injury to his elbow, which he suffered on December 7. The Serbian forward is expected to be out until the beginning of the year.

In addition, center Augustine Rubit was absent in the past two weeks due to a groin injury.

Bayern head coach Andrea Trinchieri may have to deal without two other guards in Lithuania: Nick Weiler-Babb and Ognjen Jaramaz.

According to the official club's information, both players have been out since the beginning of the week due to a gastrointestinal infection. Their participation in tomorrow's EuroLeague game remains in question.

The Zalgiris-Bayern game is on Friday at 19:00 CET.
