In the Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz's win on the road against Gran Canaria this Sunday (96-68), the guard from New Jersey exploded with 9 threes in 22 minutes of action.
An incredible performance in which he broke the all-time Baskonia record of made 3-pointers in the ACB competition. Before Howard, Igor Rakocevic (2007), Saulius Stombergas (2001), and Velimir Perasovic (1994) shared the title of the highest 3-pointers made with 8.
However, it's worth mentioning that Stombergas also hit nine 3-pointers in the EuroLeague game against AEK Athens.
5 of Howard's 9 threes took place in the second quarter when he erupted for 18 points. Howard finished the game with a season-high 34 points (2/4 2PT, 9/12 3PT, 3/6 FT), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, and 30 EFF.
Most of the brand-new record was forged in the second quarter when Howard erupted for 18 points, with five 3-pointers made in just 7 attempts to break the game for good.
Howard averages 12 points on a 40.7% shooting from 3-point in the ACB League, while his stats are even better in the Euroleague with 14.9 points and a 45.1% from beyond the arc.
The American signed a two-year deal this summer with Baskonia.
