Stefan Jovic could end up playing for Reggio Emilia in Italy, according to a report from the local media.
Stefan Jovic announced that after a long break he could return to club basketball.
The Serbian point guard recently said that he was close to an agreement with a Eurocup club, but accodring to Bologna's Il Resto del Carlino, he's close to an agreement with Reggio Emilia.
The team is currently in 12th place, with only two wins in the Serie A after seven matches. They parted ways with former point guard Cassius Robertson a few days ago, so the former Red Star player would be an extraordinary reinforcement for a squad trying to move out of the lower places of the Italian championship.
"I go to the gym regularly, I feel good and am completely ready for a new challenge. There are offers, I hope that something concrete will happen these days," said Jovic.
He proved that he is ready for new challenges by playing for the Serbian national team in the November FIBA World Cup qualifying window. He made a valuable contribution to the victories against Great Britain and Turkey, which brought the Eagles significantly closer to a World Cup placement.
His last club engagement was in Panathinaikos where didn't finish the season due to injury. He also played at Khimki, Bayern, Crvena Zvezda, and Radnicki Kragujevac.
But Stefan Jovic isn't the only name associated with Reggio Emilia. Apparently, on the radar of coach Massimiliano Menetti's team is a well-known name in the ABA League-Daron 'Fatts' Russell of Mornar Bar.
The American guard, who turned heads after delivering some astonishing performances at the beginning of the season, is still under contract with the Montenegrin club.
