On his Twitter account, McCollum posted details of the altercation and confrontation he had with the man, along with his car's license plate. The American player said the man approached him with a knife and bystanders restrained him before things would escalate even more.

"My friends/fans in Izmir, report the owner of this white Mercedes to police," McCollum wrote.

"He acted like an idiot over my parking spot and approached my car with aggression until I got out and he saw I was much bigger/younger. He then approached me with a knife; that’s when people restrained him," he described.

McCollum went on to say that the two squared up and there was a standoff "but the good citizens at the mall intervened and physically restrained" the man.

"Who knows where it could have went?" he asked. "The worst part is that I was with my pregnant wife and 2-year-old son. So, I had to make sure they were safe."

McCollum also managed to take and provide a picture of the man in question so that he can be identified more easily.

Following his post, Fenerbahce big man Johnathan Motley asked McCollum if he's good, while the former Anadolu Efes guard responded that everything is fine but the outcome could have been different if people present in the scene hadn't intervened.

"Thought I was going to have to kill this man," McCollum said, "but luckily it didn’t come down to that."

Jaylen Barford, who's playing for Lokomotiv Kuban in Russia, asked the 34-year-old guard the same question.

"Literally, he was behind me in traffic in a one-way parking garage," McCollum gave more details.

"Like you're that mad over me getting a spot that’s mine" he wonderes. "He kicked rocks, when he saw I wasn’t going. He was caught off guard," McCollum added.
