Back-to-back EuroLeague champions were looking for an upgrade when injuries shortened their backcourt rotation.
Shane Larkin (finger) is still weeks away from a return, while Rodrigue Beaubois is expected to recover soon.
"It's not easy for us to play without Larkin and Beaubois," Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman said after a recent loss to Fenerbahce 79-88.
"Things are not easy when we don't receive contributions from the bench. Today, only Dogus Balbay was involved in the game from the side and contributed to the defense," he added. "It is normal for us to lose when we have a situation like this. Our opponent was much better than us."
1.91 m Taylor played in Murcia last season. In 34 Spanish league games, Taylor averaged 15.2 points on 43.2% field goal shooting and dished 3.4 assists.
Taylor had his season-high 31 points vs. Gran Canaria. He scored 25 in a close battle vs. Barcelona (87-89).
From 2016 to 2018, he represented the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks.
In 67 games with the Hawks in 2017-18, Taylor put up 6.6 points (41.8%) and 3.1 assists per 17 minutes of play on average.
Efes, 2-3, rank 11th in the EuroLeague standings.
