Crvena Zvezda won't play Cedevita Olimpija in Ljubljana, as the Slovenian team reported several COVID cases and asked for the postponement of the contest.
In the opening game of the Sunday's ABA League schedule, Cedevita Olimpija were going to host Crvena Zvezda mts in Stozice Arena, Ljubljana. However, the contest will not take place as scheduled at the Slovenian club's request.
Several players of the host team returned positive PCR tests, and Olimpija asked for the game to be postponed for a later date.
Crvena Zvezda's squad and staff were informed of the development while at the gym, some minutes before their bus would transfer them to the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade.
Per the official ABA league statement:
"Following a request by Cedevita Olimpija, in accordance with the decision of the ABA League j.t.d. Sports Director Milija Vojinovic, the Round 3 game between Cedevita Olimpija and Crvena Zvezda mts, that was originally scheduled for Sunday, 16 October 2022, is officially postponed, due to a delicate health situation in the Cedevita Olimpija team.
AdmiralBet ABA League will announce a new game date as soon as possible."
