The 18-year-old Juan Nunez, MVP of the U20 European Championship, made his senior Spanish national team debut in a friendly game against Greece.

2004-born point guard registered 1 rebound and 1 assist missing two shots over 8 minutes.

"It's very special to make my [national team] debut in my city and country. I have goosebumps, I'm very grateful. My teammates congratulated me. I'm very happy," Nunez did not hide his joy post-game, via Marca.

Born in Madrid, Nunez joined Real Madrid's youth ranks in 2015. In his junior years, he stood out with his passing ability.

Last season, he played 24 games with Real jersey in the ACB League, averaging 1.1 points, 0.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.3 EFF during 6.5 minutes.

He became the 16th youth academy player to be introduced to the senior team by Pablo Laso. However, Nunez's future at the Royal club is still in question.

His contract with the EuroLeague runner-up ended this off-season and Nunez has not renewed the deal yet.

In an interview with the Marca newspaper, the 1.92-meter guard explained that "he can say little about his renewal with Madrid. Whatever happens, will happen".

"Madrid is a team that always has to win and it is difficult for young players to be able to settle down. Although years ago we saw that there were some youngsters who have achieved it. That is the model to follow," Nunez spoke.
