On Thursday, EuroLeague announced the schedule for the 2022-23 season, in which one interesting coincidence occurs.
On November 11 at 19:30 CET, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan are scheduled to host Virtus Segafredo Bologna in Round 7 matchup.
However, on the very same day at 17:00 CET, Italy is scheduled to host Spain in the FIBA World Cup qualification Second Round game, and Sergio Scariolo is the head coach of Virtus and Spanish national teams.
However, the 61-year-old said earlier that in his contract with Virtus, there's a clause that lets him coach Spain even in such circumstances, so it's likely that Virtus will play the Italian derby without its head coach.
Also, it is unlikely that Milan and Virtus will release their players to national teams, as it was the case last season.
