Ukrainian basketball fans have received some positive news as two of their biggest stars were confirmed to join the national team.

The Ukrainian Basketball Federation has announced that both Alex Len and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk are going to help the squad. Mykhailiuk is already training with the team in Riga, where the Ukrainian NT will play its home games of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
Mykhailiuk will help the national team in both Qualifiers windows as well as during the EuroBasket 2022. Len, on the other hand, will play for Ukraine only during the second FIBA window and the EuroBasket.
According to the federation, an agreement was reached with the NBA regarding the players' insurance. It is reported that the insurance will be covered by the NBA itself.
Ukraine will play against North Macedonia on July 4th in the first of two FIBA Qualifiers matchups this window. The team will then welcome Spain on July 7th to close out the round.
In the Eurobasket 2022, Ukraine are slotted in Group C together with Greece, Estonia, Great Britain, Italy, and Croatia.
