According to George Zakkas of SDNA.gr, six EuroLeague clubs sent an official letter to Jordi Bertomeu in regards to CSKA Moscow.
Via the Greek media outlet, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, and LDCL ASVEL Villeurbanne are aiming for the ban of CSKA not only from the 2022-23 season, but also from the EuroLeague and the board of directors.
Moreover, the clubs are asking to cancel the meeting of 11 EuroLeague shareholders, which is scheduled for June 30th.
In the latter meeting, clubs are set to validate the decision to dismiss Bertomeu and talk about his successor.
11 EuroLeague shareholders voted in favor of replacing Jordi Bertomeu as the CEO (6-5 votes) on November 2, 2021. But without CSKA, things might change.
Bertomeu has been in charge since the modern EuroLeague started in 2000.
As it was previously reported, Bertomeu will remain in a consultant role, at least for the first few months of the transition to a new board of decision-makers.
