After spending eight years at Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Jan Vesely is leaving the Turkish powerhouse, the club announced.
Vesely joined Fenerbahce before the 2014-15 season and won one EuroLeague title (2017), became EuroLeague MVP (2019), four times Turkish league champion (2016, 2017, 2018, 2022), three times Turkish Cup winner (2016, 2019, 2020), and was selected thrice into All-EuroLeague First Team (2016, 2018, 2019).
As it was reported previously by Ugur Ozan Sulak, Vesely is expected to sign a three-year deal with FC Barcelona.
Vesely is expected to make around €1.8 million net in Barcelona, with the total sum before taxes around €2.5 million per year.
"I had a chance to talk to Jan," the new Fenerbahce head coach Dimitris Itoudis said in the press conference on Tuesday. "I'm aware of great sacrifices and the offer that the club did [to keep him]. It's a family and Jan's decision. Fenerbahce are grateful for his contribution bringing success and glory to the club."
The Czech big man averaged 13.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 18.2 PIR per game this season in EuroLeague.
