FC Bayern Munich wasted no time and managed to 'steal' Telekom Basket Bonn's home-court advantage in Game 1 of their best-of-five semifinal series. Andrea Trinchieri's squad bested their opponents by 80-68 (18-16, 15-19, 26-16, 21-17).

The outing was essentially decided in the last seven minutes, when Bayern went off on a 0-8 run that gave them their biggest lead thus far in the game (61-69).

Nick Weiler-Babb did almost everything for the EuroLeague side, scoring 15 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Vladimir Lucic came in with a similar contribution consisting of 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Ognjen Jaramaz added another 18. 

Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Bonn's first scorer in the BBL (20.7 points) was held down to 14 on bad shooting percentages (4/19 from the field).
