According to the club's statement, the 34-year-old guard left the club for family reasons and due to the outgoing war in Ukraine.
It is not specified whether Hackett's contract was terminated as Virtus Bologna showed a strong interest in the player in recent days. Hackett's contract with CSKA runs out after this season.
Reports in Italy say that Hackett has a 1.5 million euros offer from Virtus. EuroCup transfer deadline closes on the 8th of March.
In total, six CSKA Moscow players have left Russia since the start of the war. Hackett, Tornike Shengelia, Iffe Lundberg, Marius Grigonis, Johannes Voigtmann, and Joel Bolomboy.
This season, Hackett averaged 8.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 9 PIR in 22 EuroLeague games.
