"Looking ahead is the only option. I'm sure I'll come back better than ever. Thank you all for the messages I am receiving," wrote Alocen on his Twitter account.
The expected recovery time was not specified in the report but such injuries are long-term ones. According to UCHealth, an ACL tear rehab time is generally eight to nine months, though some people may recover in six months.
Therefore, there is not much hope to see Alocen once more on the court this season.
The 21-year-old averaged 2.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.3 PIR over 10 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games (9 minutes) this season.
The Spanish point guard posted 3.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 2.5 PIR in 11 ACB matches (10 minutes).
The Royal club sits second in the EuroLeague standings (20-5) and first in the ACB League (17-4).
