The EuroCup team from France has announced the signing of the American big man Vince Hunter to a one-year deal.

The power forward/center (27, 2.03) has been a member of Virtus Segafredo Bologna since 2019 and became the Italian League champion in 2021. Last season in the EuroCup he averaged 9.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists (21 games). Hunter was named the EuroCup Top 16 MVP and selected to the All-EuroCup Second Team last season.
However, the ending of Hunter's stint in Bologna was mired in controversy. First, Virtus Segafredo signed him to a contract extension, but two weeks later Hunter was terminated by the club due to disqualification for violation of the anti-doping sports code. In Italy, Hunter received a three-month suspension, which will end on September 10.
Throughout his career, Vince Hunter has represented two Athens powerhouses - Panathinaikos (2016) and AEK (2018-19). With the latter, he won the Basketball Champions League in 2018. He also had a short stint in the NBA (2017-18). Hunter played in 4 games with the Memphis Grizzlies and recorded 1.5 points and 0.8 rebounds.
Metropolitans 92, who last year had an 11-5 regular-season record in the EuroCup and advanced to the playoffs, will compete in Group A of the upcoming season.
