Hield grabbed a game-opening jump ball out of that Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen tipped his way, pivoted at the top of the key, and instantly connected on a 3-pointer to give Indiana a 3-0 lead only three seconds into the game.

Buddy Hield has spent the majority of his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings. This season, he's a member of the Indiana Pacers, and it seems there is no warm feeling toward the previous team. When the Pacers were doing a shootaround before last night's game against the Boston Celtics, Hield's teammate Aaron Nesmith, who previously played for the Celtics, was giving an interview to the media.

The Los Angeles Lakers were in deep discussions around moving point guard Russell Westbrook to the Indiana Pacers up until last week, according to The Athletic. However, this trade never materialized and Westbrook remains a Laker today. Still, The Athletic reports that the prospect of Westbrook being traded in the coming weeks and months remains real.

A trade package that would have seen the Los Angeles Lakers trade Russell Westbrook and a first-rounder to the Indiana Pacers in return for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield is currently dead, according to Shams Charania and Bob Kravitz of The Athletic. The Pacers want a second first-round selection added to the deal, via the report.
