After a very intense battle, Greece overcame New Zealand and won the decisive game with the final score of 83-74 (15-20, 17-23, 18-11, 33-20) New Zealand played an amazing first half, ending the first 20 minutes of basketball up by 11 points, with Greece struggling to keep the pace of the Tall Blacks.Â

Zero points, zero field goals, and a challenging first quarter, which put Team USA behind New Zealand by ten early in the opening FIBA World Cup match. The entire US team turned the ball over six times in the first seven minutes of the game.

Following an intense four-day training camp in Auckland, Tall Blacks head coach Pero Cameron and his coaching staff have selected a squad of 14 athletes to travel to Japan, Germany, and China in advance of the FIBA World Cup 2023 held in the Philippines from August 25 to September 10. The 14 athletes for the Tall Black's extended FIBA World Cup squad are:

Just two weeks before the FIBA Basketball World Cup in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, the four qualified countries will do some fine-tuning.
