The EuroCup newcomers London Lions have reached an agreement with Tomislav Zubcic, sources tell BasketNews. A 32-year-old Croatian will join Kosta Koufos and Sam Dekker on the Lions' frontline. 2.11 m stretch big spent the last two seasons in Tofas Bursa. In the Basketball Champions League, Zubcic averaged 11.9 points on 36.5% 3-point shooting, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
Virtus Bologna are getting closer to a contract extension with a 21-year-old point guard Nico Mannion, a few sources confirmed to BasketNews. Both sides are expected to sign a new contract that would keep Mannion in Bologna until 2025. The current Mannion deal with Virtus was set to expire after the 2022-23 season.
One of the most promising young Lithuanian players Dovydas Giedraitis will suit up for Zalgiris Kaunas in the upcoming season. Back-to-back EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes Istanbul retained another core member of the team. According to BasketNews sources, Tibor Pleiss agreed to a contract extension with Efes until the summer of 2024. The 32-year-old's current contract would have expired after the 2022-23 season.
FC Bayern Munich are signing American point guard Cassius Winston, according to BasketNews sources. The previous two seasons the 24-year-old Winston spent with the Washington Wizards and in the NBA G League. Kyoto Hannaryz reached the agreements with the 25-year-old forward Cheick Diallo and the 29-year-old forward Jarrod Uthoff. Juan Carlos Villena of Las Provincias first reported about an agreement. 1.91 m Radebaugh signed with Lenovo Tenerife at the end of the 2021-22 season, but he had an exit clause in his contract until July 25th.
Former Denver Nuggets guard Markus Howard is set to join Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, sources tell BasketNews. According to sources, both sides have agreed on a two-year contract. "Home of Glory" first reported about Howard being close to signing with Baskonia. A 23-year-old 1.80 m guard comes from his two-way experience with the Nuggets.
Marius Grigonis has reached an agreement with Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, sources confirmed BasketNews. Shortly after, Panathinaikos officially announced the information about the reinforcement. The 28-year-old guard joined the Greek club for two seasons. CSKA Moscow will receive around a 250k buyout for releasing the player who had two years remaining on his contract, sources say BasketNews.
