Germany will play in a FIBA World Cup final on Sunday for the first time in the country's history. They are still the only unbeaten team in the tournament.

Talking with Magenta Sport after the game, Schroder said that defensive work was one of the keys to victory despite a huge scoreline.

"We rebounded the ball, we played quickly, we defended. I think in these knockout games, you have to tighten the screws on defense, and we did that against the strong Americans," Schroder said. "That's why we are now in the final."

Before the tournament, the German national team was involved in a public conflict between Schroder and Maxi Kleber. Now, with a smile on his face, the star guard praised his teammates.

"My team is extremely awesome. I think this is the best team I've ever been on, whether it's the NBA or the national team," Schroder said.

"I'm enjoying playing together and being on the court. Everyone is happy for each other," he continued. "Of course, there is no better feeling [than to win] against the USA, a strong team. A lot of respect for them, but we simply gave it our all as a team for 40 minutes."

In the other semifinal, Serbia surprised the world and relatively easily defeated Canada. Looking forward to the all-European FIBA World Cup final, Schroder said if Germany continues to play like they had, no team exists that can stop them.

"If we do our things right, then it doesn't matter who we play against. And that's not a disrespect to any team, but I have so much belief in the guys in the locker room that it doesn't matter what happens," he shared.

"When we do our things and execute, we can beat any team," Schroder said. "Of course, winning against the USA is very, very cool, but we still have one game, and we still have to stay focused and play against a strong Serbia on Sunday."
