Luka Doncic's Slovenia will face China, Greece, Croatia, Spain, and Team USA in six preparation games ahead of the FIBA World Cup 2023.

The Slovenian national team has finalized their preparation matches leading up to the upcoming FIBA World Cup 2023, scheduled to take place from August 25 to September 10 in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.

Slovenia will face several formidable opponents as they gear up for the tournament, including Greece, Spain, the United States, China, and Croatia.

Preparations for the national team will commence on July 17, with their first game against China set to be held at Zlatorog Hall in Celje on July 25.

Subsequently, they will host Greece at Stozice Arena on August 2 in a highly anticipated event that could see Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo gracing the court. Just two days later, they will again lock horns with Greece, but this time in Athens.

Returning to Stozice, Slovenia will then face off against Croatia on August 8, before participating in a prestigious tournament in Malaga.

As part of the centenary celebrations of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Slovenia will compete against Spain on August 11, followed by a clash against Team USA the next day.

Once back in Slovenia, the national team will swiftly travel to Japan to conclude their preparations for the World Cup.

The schedule of the preparation games:

  • July 25: Slovenia vs. China
  • August 2: Slovenia vs. Greece
  • August 4: Greece vs. Slovenia
  • August 8: Slovenia vs. Croatia
  • August 11: Spain vs. Slovenia
  • August 12: Team USA vs. Slovenia

The Slovenian NT will compete in Group F and go head-to-head against Venezuela, Georgia, and Cape Verde on the scenic Japanese island of Okinawa.

Group E, on the other hand, consists of Germany, Finland, Australia, and Japan, who will later join forces with the Slovenian group as the tournament progresses.
