With Zalgiris achieving their 17th win and at least temporarily moving to 8th place in the EuroLeague standings, the Spanish team was officially eliminated from EuroLeague playoff contention. With two games in the regular season left, Valencia won't be able to catch up with the Lithuanian team.

Valencia sparked their playoff hopes after a 5-game winning streak in the middle of January. However, since then, Valencia's record has only been 2-8.

Valencia returned to EuroLeague after a 1-year break since they spent the 2021-22 campaign in the EuroCup. At the moment, it's unclear whether the Spanish team will return to the strongest European basketball competition next season.

One consolation prize Valencia could take is Chris Jones' extension, as the American guard already agreed to remain with Taronges until 2026.
