The last time Panathinaikos lost at least three games in a row was during the 1990-91 season when the club got defeated four times in a row. Their fifth loss in the regular season was a first since the 2002-03 season.
Panathinaikos Athens got defeated by AEK Athens in the Greek League (ESAKE) on Saturday. The loss was the club's third in a row, a feat that hadn't been seen for more than three decades.
Previously, Panathinaikos had lost to PAOK and Olympiacos. The last time the Greek club lost three Greek League games in a row was way back during the 1990-91 season when the team finished the regular season with a record of 11 wins and 11 losses.
Back then, Panathinaikos had a four-game losing streak from Round 7 until Round 10.
On top of that, it was the fifth loss for Panathinaikos in the league, marking the first time it happens in the last 20 years. The last time it happened was during the 2002-03 season when the club played in the Sporting Indoor Hall while OAKA was being renovated for the 2004 Olympic Games.
Panathinaikos are currently 2nd in the league standings, two wins ahead of AEK and Peristeri bwin.
