Former NBA player Rashad McCants thinks Austin Reaves doesn't deserve a four-year $50 million deal from the Lakers and said that the other guests in the Gil's Arena podcast were only giving it to him because he's white and plays for the Lakers that are trash.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has been the talk of the town recently, averaging 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in the month of March. His performance has earned Reaves a spot in the starting five but seemingly not everyone values the player's performance equally.

Reaves becomes a restricted free agent this upcoming summer. The maximum amount the Lakers can offer the guard is a four-year, $50.8 million contract if they chose to use his Early Bird Rights.

In the Gil's Arena podcast headlined by former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, one of his guests, former NBA player Rashad McCants, pushed back against the notion that Reaves should receive this amount of money.

When other guests discussed the possible options, McCants said that he would only offer a two-year $7 million contract.

"Francisco Garcia got that s--t, he doesn't deserve it," McCants said. "Y'all giving it to him because he's white, he's playing with the Lakers, and they're trash. If the Lakers ain't trash, he ain't playing."

"He's starting to look like Jeremy Lin a little bit," he later added.
