TJ Parker is suffering from back pain which has already forced him to miss a EuroLeague game vs Real Madrid on Friday and LNB game vs Strasbourg on Sunday.
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne have embarked on a journey to play two away games in three days in the EuroLeague double week. However, they will have to do it without their head coach.
TJ Parker has not travelled with the squad and will miss both matches - first, against FC Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and then a game versus Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday, Le Progres reports.
The French specialist has been suffering from back pain recently which forced him out of being with the team in the last EuroLeague duel against Real Madrid as well as French League (LNB) battle versus SIG Strasbourg.
To replace Parker, assistant coach Morgan Belnou will lead the team in both EuroLeague away matches this week. The hope is, Le Progres writes, that Parker returns this weekend when ASVEL plays against Nanterre 92 on Sunday.
Belnou will have to coach without Zaccharie Risacher who is sidelined with a thigh injury.
With 8 wins and 18 losses, ASVEL share the 16th spot in the EuroLeague standings together with Panathinaikos Athens.
