"It's been a long process," Bridges told AP Tuesday night at halftime of Michigan State's home game against No. 17 Indiana. "I might be back in March."

Bridges has yet to make his season debut after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their two children.

Miles Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge and was sentenced to three years of probation without jail time.

The no-contest plea is an indirect acknowledgment and acceptance of the punishment without formally agreeing with the accusations. Three felony charges were initially filed, and Bridges had pleaded not guilty to all of them at first.

The player will now have to undergo 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and 52 weeks of parenting classes, serve 100 hours of community service, and perform weekly narcotics testing, with marijuana allowed only if there is a valid doctor's prescription.

Bridges may face disciplinary action from the NBA.

The restricted free agent spent his first four NBA seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 20.2 points, seven rebounds, and 3.8 in the 2021-22 campaign.

Earlier this month, Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak also gave a short statement on Bridge's situation.

"The NBA is conducting an investigation, and I don't know when that is going to end," Kupchak said. "When it ends, we'll have more information, and we'll go from there. I'll leave it up to you to decide what kind of impact that had on our team this year."
