Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the Nets-Mavericks trade still hasn't been made official with the league office because Brooklyn is evaluating opportunities to expand a deal with a third team.

According to Marc Stein, Brooklyn has explored the feasibility of packaging Spencer Dinwiddie and draft capital to the Toronto Raptors in an attempt to acquire Fred VanVleet.

"The Nets have also been described to me as a team with Pascal Siakam interest ... although the signals entering the final week of trade season have reflected a reluctance from Toronto to this point to make Siakam available," Marc Stein adds.

Wojnarowski also notes that the Nets and Mavs are expected to make a two-way deal official in the next couple of hours unless Brooklyn's plans materialize.

VanVleet, who was an All-Star last season, registers 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in 46 starts, in his 7th NBA campaign, all with the Raptors.

The Mavericks traded Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 unprotected first-rounder, a 2027 second-rounder, and a 2029 second-rounder for Kyrie Irving on Sunday. As part of the deal, Markieff Morris went to Dallas as well.
