FC Bayern Munich head coach Andrea Trinchieri didn't travel to Barcelona due to a bereavement, the German club officially announced.

For tonight's EuroLeague game against Barca, his coaching staff around assistant Adriano Vertemati will stand in for him.

Bayern suffered an 82-73 defeat at Valencia on Tuesday night, while the Catalans gained confidence with a hard-earned 83-78 home win over Maccabi two days ago.

The German powerhouse ranks fourteenth in the EuroLeague standings with 9 wins and 13 losses. Trinchieri's team is five wins away from Barcelona, which sits third with a 14-8 record.

The Round 23 game between Barcelona and Bayern starts at 20:30 CET at Palau Blaugrana.

Barca won the first game in Munich, 84-73.
