Despite the serious interest from Panathinaikos Athens, former NBAer Shabazz Napier is in advanced negotiations with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, according to Encestando.

BasketNews sources confirm that the Italian team is negotiating with Napier. No deal yet, but talks are progressing, and Milan looks like the frontrunner to sign the 31-year-old point guard as of right now.

Napier is currently playing in the G-League with the Mexico City Capitals, averaging 22.3 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.2 rebounds on 47.2% from the field, 46.4% 3-point shooting, and 81.6% from the charity stripe.

The American-Puerto Rican player signed with Zenit St. Petersburg in the summer of 2021, but an injury knocked him out early and he didn't even make his EuroLeague debut last year.

Napier has won the NCAA twice with Connecticut and was selected with the 24th pick in the 2014 draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

He is a six-season NBA guard who spent time with the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Washington Wizards.

The 1.85-meter Napier has NBA career averages of 7.1 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 rebounds over 345 games.
