A decisive performance by J'Covan Brown pushed hosts Hapoel Tel Aviv past Maccabi, with the EuroCup side snatching first place in the Winner League standings.

Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv faced off in the Israeli Winner League, with the hosts prevailing by 96-95 (24-19, 22-29, 23-24, 27-23).

With this result, Hapoel Tel Aviv got their 11th win (11-2) climbing to the top of the standings, while Maccabi Tel Aviv are standing second, at 10-3.

The Tel Aviv derby had a quick pace,17 lead changes, and tension until the final buzzer. Jalen Adams gave the Yellows a 13-point lead at the end of the third quarter, but J'Covan Brown led a partial score of 15-1 for the hosts and together with Chinanu Onuaku made sure his side got the win.

Hapoel dominated the pain, getting 50 points in the area as opposed to Maccabi's 20. They also saw Xavier Manford hit a big clutch three-pointer, which actually decided the game. Brown hardly rested and presented one of his best games in Israel: 32 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and an index of 39. 

In the third quarter, Jalen Adams scored 20 points in only 13 minutes for Maccabi. In the closing seconds, the EuroLeague team had a chance to win, but a Bonzie Colson turnover cost them the game. 

For Hapoel, Chinanu Onuaku had 16, Tomer Ginat 15 and Xavier Munford chipped in with 11 points.

Wade Baldwin scored 29 points in Maccabi Tel Aviv, while Jalen Adams produced 20 and John DiBartolomeo another 18, while Josh Nebo and Bonzie Colson finished the game with 6 points apiece.
