Facundo Campazzo joined Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade two weeks ago but was unable to make his debut in the EuroLeague due to a ban that prohibited the club from registering new players in the tournament.

Telesport.rs report, however, that the Serbian team has solved the problems that caused the ban to be issued.

Crvena Zvezda reportedly had to pay approximately seven arrears of monthly salaries from the previous three seasons to their former and current players.

EuroLeague has later contacted BasketNews with a clarifying statement about the situation.

"The issue has not been solved, so the measure imposed by the independent Finance Panel on Crvena Zvezda that forbids the club from registering players and coaches is still applicable. We expect further news by early next week at the latest," the league added.

If the ban is lifted in time, it will open up the path to registering Campazzo just in time for the next EuroLeague match against Valencia Basket on Friday. In his first match for the club in the ABA League, Campazzo finished the match with 11 points (1/1 2PT, 2/5 3PT, 3/3 FT), 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 3 drawn fouls for 18 PIR in just 18 minutes.

The Serbian club has a huge vacancy in the backcourt as Luca Vildoza suffered a hamstring injury that will sideline him for a month. It was recently announced that Vildoza was named the MVP of the month of December in the EuroLeague.
