After Caleb Houstan's ill-advised pass, both Wagner and Hayes were chasing the ball when the German forward pushed his opponent out of bounds. Several members of the Pistons roster immediately retaliated.
Hamidou Diallo pushed Wagner into Isaiah Stewart, then Hayes himself punched the Magic player in the back of the head, briefly knocking him out unconscious. Players from both teams got involved, causing the arena announcer to discourage local fans from acting up.
All three players who were directly involved in the conflict -- Wagner, Hayes, and Diallo --got ejected from the game.
"He's fine," Moritz's younger brother Franz said. "I haven't seen the video, but I know that's the last thing he wanted to do."
