Before the start of the match, Vezenkov received the EuroLeague November MVP award from the club's co-president, Giorgos Angelopoulos.

The Bulgarian forward extended his streak of great performances in the game against Virtus, recording 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in 15:51 minutes. He was also voted MVP of the match.

After the game, Sergio Scariolo was asked about Vezenkov's MVP run this year. The Italian coach, who took responsibility for his team's heavy loss, spoke flatteringly of the Bulgarian international and how he's been playing since the 2022 EuroBasket.

"I think he's definitely the No.1 power forward in Europe right now," Virtus' head coach said.

"There are very few things to say. You know how competitive this competition is. I can't find a better player in his position all around Europe. As an opponent, it's tough to play against him. As a basketball fan, it's a joy to watch him play," Scariolo told Bulgarian outlet BTA.

The national teams of Bulgaria and Spain were in the same group in the EuroBasket's group stage hosted in Georgia, and later the Spaniards won the European title.

"It's one of those nights when everything goes well," Vezenkov said about his team's records. Olympiacos had 117 points off 33 assists while making 18 of their 3-point shots and reaching 159 in PIR.

"I think we did a great job offensively, but also defensively. We started from the first minute playing very tough," Vezenkov continued.

"Virtus are a very good team, so we're very happy with this win, but we have to forget it because on Tuesday we play against the top team in the league, and we have to be even more prepared to win that game."

Olympiacos are hosting Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul on December 13 (20:00). The Reds are now 8-4, while the Turkish side leads the standings with 10-2.
