The basketball tournament of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be held in two separate venues, which were recently confirmed by FIBA.

The group stage of the tournament will be held in Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille. Although the stadium's primary function is hosting LOSC Lille's football matches, it will not be the first time basketball matches will be hosted there. The matches of the final stage of EuroBasket 2015 happened in Pierre-Mauroy, which can host up to 27,500 spectators when converted to an indoor venue.

The deal isn't entirely confirmed yet, though. FIBA is currently concerned about the venue's conditioning facilities. The confirmation is contingent on the organizers putting an air conditioning solution in place that would prevent the court from getting slippery.

After the group stage is finished, the tournament will transfer to the capital of Paris. Accor Arena, which can host up to 15,609 basketball fans, will welcome the remaining teams.

The initial plan was to host the group stage at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. However, French basketball players, most notably Evan Fournier and Rudy Gobert, protested the decision to hold the tournament there. Citing an official reason for a lack of the arena's technical capabilities, the plans to host basketball matches there were cancelled.
