Ivica Zubac is just the third player in NBA history to have at least 31 points, 29 rebounds, and three blocks in a single game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the last to accomplish the feat on 2/3/78 at New Jersey.

Zubac led his team which played without All-Stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

The 29 boards were the franchise's most since Michael Cage snatched 30 in a game in April 1988.

Zubac also shot a blistering 14 of 17 from the floor, falling just one point short of matching his career high in scoring before fouling out.

He approached an extremely rare stat line, as no NBA player has recorded a 30-point, 30-rebound double-double since Dwight Howard in 2018.

The Clippers say since 1973-74, when blocked shots were first tracked, Zubac is just the third player in NBA history to have at least 31 points, 29 rebounds, and three blocks in a single game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the last to accomplish the feat in 1978 in New Jersey.

In the last 10 years, the 25-year-old Croatian center is just the 4th player to record 30 points and at least 25 rebounds, joining:

  • Anthony Davis 34 PTS, 26 REB on 01/02/2019
  • Dwight Howard 32 PTS, 30 REB on 03/21/2018
  • Dwight Howard 36 PTS, 26 REB on 01/18/2016
  • LaMarcus Aldridge 31 PTS, 25 REB on 12/12/2013

"Everything he's meant to this team. A guy who plays every night. I'm happy for him," coach Tyronn Lue said of his player.

Ivica Zubac rewrote Clippers' history on a day when Croatia defeated Canada 4-1 in FIFA World Cup group play. Zubac came out a few hours later and absolutely dominated as well.

"The game this morning inspired me," he admitted after the match with video game numbers.
