A week after the rumors have been spread, the news have been confirmed this morning. The Chinese men's national team has hired Sasa Djordjevic to be their next head coach.

Not long thereafter, the news was announced by the coach's agent Misko Raznatovic as well.

"It is a great honor to become the coach of China," the specialist told. "We have a lot of work ahead of us, we will try to achieve the best results possible."

According to Mozzart Sport, the Serbian specialist will earn 1 million dollars for his position.

It would be the second job with a national team for Djordjevic. Previously, he led Serbia from 2013 to 2019.

He won three silver medals with the Serbian national team – the 2014 World Cup, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro summer Olympics, and the 2017 EuroBasket.

Djordjevic has been without a job since the summer after parting ways with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul at the end of the 2021-22 season.

With 8 wins in 10 matches, China has already qualified for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
