PAO struggled mightily in the first half, missing all 11 three-pointers and scoring just 5 points in the second quarter. Talking about the match, Panathinaikos' head coach Dejan Radonjic emphasized the team's turnovers.

"We weren't good in the first half, we made a lot of mistakes," the coach told after the game. "We need time to see where we are because it is very early in the season. We had only a few practices with a full roster. It was a good chance to win today but those who played today have been only a few days together."

Panathinaikos once again played without Nate Wolters. Overall, the team committed 19 turnovers in the game, 12 of which were in the first half.

"We're also waiting for Walters to come back to see where we are. It's hard to play without our main point guard," Radonjic continued. "We tried to work around it for two weeks. I hope he will be with us next week. We have done some tests with [Mateusz] Ponitka and [Marius] Grigonis, and we've made some changes to our plan."

Next week, Panathinaikos will fly to Belgrade to meet Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade on Thursday in a Round 2 EuroLeague matchup. The game is scheduled to start at 19:00 CET.
