"Happy he's finally feeling better. I had to take him to the hospital when we got to Minnesota right after my birthday," she wrote on her Instagram story. "What a week..."

Towns now came back to the training facility and practiced in a limited capacity. The player did not go into detail about what exactly kept him from the team but mentioned that he got cleared to walk only on Saturday.

Towns has lost 19 pounds (~8.6 kg) throughout the offseason, which was a combination of his attempts to slim down and the illness he endured, the player told.

"There were more drastic things to worry about than basketball at that moment," he told. " I miss the game, I love the game. I miss these guys. Sick and tired of recovering at the house and not being able to leave and do anything."

"Right now it looks good," Towns continued. "Obviously, I'm going to take my time and do whatever the [doctor] recommends and let my body catch up and get to that feeling."

The Timberwolves play their first pre-season game against the Miami Heat Tuesday night.
