Former Inter Milan and Argentinian NT forward Rodrigo Palacio retired from football at the age of 40 and began his basketball path.

Argentinian forward Rodrigo Palacio retired from professional football and started playing basketball at the age of 40.

His last football contract was with the Italian Serie B team, Brescia.

From now on, he plays for Polisportiva Garegnano 1976 in the 6th Italian basketball division.

The former Boca Juniors, Genoa, Inter Milan, and Bologna striker has already played his first official basketball match. It ended in a defeat, while Palacio scored four points.

During his 20-year football career, Palacio competed in 607 official games and scored 177 goals. He appeared in 27 matches in an Argentine jersey and scored 3 goals.

The 1.76-meter athlete represented the Argentinian national team at two FIFA World Cups and a Copa America, winning silver accolades at the 2014 WC and the 2007 South American Football Championship.
