Olympiacos Piraeus defied the pre-season predictions and marched to the EuroLeague Final Four last season while demonstrating a consistent and solid game throughout the entire year.

Looking forward to the season ahead, Kostas Sloukas did not want to look to the past. Instead, the veteran offered a different perspective.

"We had a positive sign for Olympiacos last year. We won titles, we went to the Final Four but I'm used to saying that nobody remembers the past, we all live for the present," Sloukas told Gazzetta.gr.

"It is already forgotten what we did last year and we are starting a new season. EuroLeague teams bought [players] from the high shelf after understanding the demands of the competition," the player shared. "The goal is to get as high as possible in the playoffs. We have very good chemistry, the team is healthy, and the people are happy to see them on the field."

Sloukas will be tasked to lead the team to trophies once again while being the main point guard of a strong roster. Talking about his role on the team, the Greek guard admitted that wearing the red-and-white shirt brings a set of expectations and obligations.

"I don't feel a burden, I feel a sense of responsibility," he said. "The team's legacy is very high, we are talking about one of the biggest clubs in Europe. You see how much respect Olympiacos has in Europe."
