Boston Celtics center Robert Williams will be sidelined for 8 to 12 weeks following surgery on his left knee.

He had an arthroscopic procedure to remove loose bodies and address swelling in the knee, the club announced Friday.

The Celtics also reported that Italian forward Danilo Gallinari underwent successful left knee revision ACL repair. He sustained an injury during preparation for FIBA EuroBasket 2022.

Williams, 24, made the NBA's All-Defensive second team and helped Boston reach the NBA Finals in 2021-22.

He recorded career highs with 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.2 blocks in 61 starts last season.

With Williams on the court, the Celtics ranked in the 96th percentile in points allowed per 100 possessions and opponent effective field goal percentage.

He will earn $10.7 million this upcoming season.
