Lorenzo Brown could have played for the Croatian national team but its Federation didn't approve Veljko Mrsic's offer.
Former Croatian national team player Mario Kasun shared an interesting piece of information about Lorenzo Brown in the Inkubator podcast.

Croatia naturalized American Jaleen Smith ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2022, however, Lorenzo Brown was their option two years ago.
"[Veljko] Mrsic offered Brown to Croatia a couple of years ago, but Croatian Basketball Federation is known for its decisions..." Kasun revealed.
Mrsic was Croatia's national team head coach at that time. He worked with the squad from May 2019 to January 2022.
Sergio Scariolo and the Spanish Basketball Federation asked for Brown's naturalization this year when Ricky Rubio suffered an ACL tear. The Spanish Ministry of Justice approved Lorenzo's express naturalization in July and he was available in FIBA EuroBasket 2022.
Brown was instrumental in Spain's gold-medal journey in the European championship.
The new Maccabi Tel Aviv guard entered the EuroBasket First Team after averaging 17.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 16.7 EFF over nine matches.
