Bulgaria NT suffered a second consecutive heavy defeat at the friendly tournament in Pardubice, falling to Croatia 68-98 on Saturday afternoon.

The Croatians had a full squad with their stars - Bojan Bogdanovic, Dominik Mavra, Mario Hezonja and Ivica Zubac, while the Bulgarian side -for various reasons- could not count on Sasha Vezenkov, Dee Bost, Yordan Minchev and Konstantin Kostadinov.

Karlo Matkovic was the top scorer of the contest with 16 points. Toni Perkovic added 15, while Zubac had 12 in less than 12 minutes of action.

Croatian national team coach Damir Mulaomerovic used a total of 14 players. Naturalized David Kravish and Ventsislav Petkov scored 11 points each for Bulgaria, which will take part in EuroBasket Group A, also including hosts Georgia, Montenegro, Spain, Turkey, and Belgium.

This was the last game for Bulgaria before the start of the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers against Cyprus on the 25th and Romania on the 28th of August in Samokov.

On September 1, Barchowski's men face world champions Spain in their opening game of EuroBasket 2022.

Croatia will play in Milan in Group C with Italy, Greece, Estonia, Ukraine, and Great Britain.
